Just delivered a Refectory style table to my client in Hythe, Kent. This table has a solid Oak bread board end top, this means that the Oak boards at either end are fixed by tenons onto the main table top. This restricts the cupping nature of the wood. The base is made out of upper gulf redwood, double faced tenons are employed throughout with wedged through tenons on the stretcher rail. To be finished by the client with a hand applied paint technique.
